The zucchini vine produces two types of zucchini flower: the male and female flower. The male courgette flower has a slightly thinner appearance and the female stem is thicker with a yellowish and orange colour flower on the end. The courgette flower can be stuffed, sauteed, barbecued, baked, deep friend in tempura batter or utilised in pasta or risotto dishes. Zucchini flowers come in punnets of 10 and are perfect for specials, to use as a garnish, to add colour to a dish, as part of a function menu or to surprise guests at a wine dinner.
